Course Purpose
The purpose of this course is to guide participants into a deeper understanding of the Apostle Paul’s letter to the Philippians, exploring its themes of partnership, joy, humility, perseverance, and generosity. Rooted in Scripture, the course seeks to nurture spiritual growth, strengthen discipleship, and encourage believers to embody the mind of Christ in everyday life. By engaging with Philippians in a structured and reflective way, participants will be equipped to live faithfully as God’s people today—finding joy in suffering, pressing on toward the goal, and serving others with Christlike humility.
Course Overview
This course unfolds over six lessons, each centred on a key passage from Philippians. Together, they form a journey through the letter’s major themes:
Lesson 1: Partnership in the Gospel (Philippians 1:1–11) Discover the joy of gospel partnership and the assurance that God will complete His work in us.
Lesson 2: Joy in Suffering (Philippians 1:12–30) Explore how Paul’s imprisonment becomes a testimony of courage and joy, inspiring believers to stand firm.
Lesson 3: The Mind of Christ (Philippians 2:1–18) Reflect on Christ’s humility and obedience, and consider how His example shapes our unity and service.
Lesson 4: Models of Service (Philippians 2:19–30) Learn from Timothy and Epaphroditus as living examples of faithful service and sacrificial love.
Lesson 5: Pressing On Toward the Goal (Philippians 3) Be challenged to pursue Christ above all else, pressing forward with perseverance and hope.
Lesson 6: Joy, Contentment, and Generosity (Philippians 4) Embrace Paul’s teaching on joy, peace, and generosity, discovering the secret of contentment in Christ.
